    Superior Completion Services is currently looking for a Learning and Development Supervisor to join our team in Houston, TX.




    The Learning and Development Supervisor will own, develop, deliver, and maintain a variety of training programs aimed at building the capabilities of all employees, including those in senior level managerial roles, placing emphasis on developing soft and hard skills and leadership and industry related technical programs skills (the latter at a high level). S/he will guide learning initiatives and ensure programs that are built meet the business needs of SCS, create roll out plans to ensure programs and other initiatives are well communicated, and promote/market programs to ensure their continued success.  Additionally, s/he will support related processes that sustain and enhance the short and long-range mission, goals, and strategies of SCS and must be able to work strategically and have a hands-on approach to addressing organizational training and development needs.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Highly developed coaching skills that can be applied to help resolve managerial/supervisory challenges, as well as applying learnings from the different programs we deliver
    • Mentors others to build coaching skills within the organization
    • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates training and development activities/programs for the Division
    • Networks with others in the organization to share best practices
    • Troubleshoots issues with the vendor on the Learning Management System
    • Supervises and develops training related processes, procedures and supporting documentation
    • Well versed in supervisory and managerial practices
    • Sources and assesses appropriate internal and external training resources and trainers to deliver training
    • Continually identifies training and development opportunities for SCS staff at all levels within the Division through needs assessments, informal input from employees/managers/supervisors, performing job skills analyses, and other means
    • Interfaces with managers and supervisors to provide training recommendations/programs that address identified needs
    • Identifies organizational issues that can be improved through targeted training initiatives and coaching; develops training materials to address issues and identifies best venue through which to deliver training
    • Develops and maintains record keeping systems (spreadsheets, files, databases); prepares training reports and related recommendations based on findings
    • Evaluates training effectiveness through surveys and strategic feedback initiatives
    • Willingly shares training expertise with other team members
    • Develops video learning, games, other activities to enhance learning/support learning requirements of the Division
    • Serves as facilitator for other Division initiatives (such as process improvement and Lean/Kaizen efforts, SCS Associate Engineer and Intern Programs, etc.) within the organization; provides feedback and guidance to Process Owners on these initiatives
    • Analyzes impact of organizational initiative on employee capability and provides recommendations
    • Promotes a learning culture within the organization
    • Promotes and serves as role model for the Shared Core Values within the organization

    Minimum Requirements

    • A minimum of 5 years experience in training design/development and delivery required; training design and platform experience should be in both soft skills and technical training using a systematic process
    • A minimum of 5 years in coaching with some being in executive coaching
    • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems required
    • Experience with Lean/Job Shop Lean/Six Sigma is preferred
    • Demonstrated capability in developing video training, games, etc. strongly preferred
    • Organizational Development experience preferred


    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as Human Resources, Learning Development, Training and Development, Organizational Development, Adult Education and Training
    • Coaching certification and other Learning and Development certifications preferred
