    We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer Manager to join our team in Lafayette, LA.

     

    Summary

    The Sustaining Engineering Manager is responsible for the oversight of projects and supervision/mentoring of employees within the Sustaining Engineering Department. These employees can include design engineers, designers, drafters and document control coordinators. Primary responsibilities are to ensure that assignments are completed on schedule and technical specifications are met.  The Sustaining Engineering Department has a primary focus on maintenance of equipment design while working on occasional development projects.  Interacts closely with other departments, principally Design Engineering, Operations and Manufacturing.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Check and approve drawings, and approve change notices
    • Maintain tech manual documentation for product lines.
    • Witness and approve layouts.
    • Initiate test requests and write test reports.
    • Provide technical support to manufacturing and operations.
    • Disposition Non-Conformances and Deviation Requests.
    • Assist in the training and professional development of direct reports.
    • Recommend changes in workforce and compensation to department manager.
    • Recommend changes to departmental policies and procedures.
    • Administration of budgets and cost/expense control within area of responsibility.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Minimum of 10 years related design experience
    • Experience in the design of downhole oil and gas equipment preferred
    • Experience in the supervision of technical staff preferred
    • Knowledge of current practices and technology used in the oil and gas industry 

    Education

     

    • High School or Equivalent Required.
    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred, or a minimum of twelve years related product design experience and/or training demonstrating the equivalent knowledge and engineering skills; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
