Summary:

 

Ensure district compliance with company safety policies and regulations, maintaining of OSHA and DOT files in accordance with Federal and State laws, and the maintenance of district compliance plans.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for field level implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines as instructed
  • Duties are likely to be within a defined project, work site or geographic location, as directed, and may be within a single business sector or across business sectors
  • Train district employees in matters pertaining to safety
  • Monitor and maintains DOT and OSHA compliance, maintain OSHA employee files
  • Perform regular audits to ensure compliance
  • Measure progress toward the attainment of safety goals
  • Maintain district compliance plans
  • Travel required approximately 60% of time
  • Other duties as assigned

Competency Requirements:

  • High School graduate
  • Preferably Post-Secondary education relating to Safety
  • Minimum four years working with OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Extensive technical and practical knowledge of operations, products, company policies, and government regulations
  • Admirable interpersonal skills conveyed in a pleasant and professional manner when interacting with employees, management, and customers
  • Skilled in applying problem-solving techniques to complications that may arise
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, at a fast pace and produce quality work
  • Ability to be organized and follow a systematic method of performing a task
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office desktop applications

Compensation: 

  • Non-Exempt

 

Physical Job Demands:

 

  • Exposure to weather – Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather
  • Atmospheric Conditions – Exposure to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dusts, mists, and gases

  • Safety Supervisor
