We are currently looking for a Mechanic I to join our team in Canonsburg, PA.

 

Summary

 

The Mechanic I repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as generators, engines, trailers, trucks, and heavy trucks.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Entry Level Mechanic performs work specified on maintenance and service orders with efficiency and in accordance with company standards, diagnoses and repairs equipment systems including flushes, oil changes, etc. provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs

  • Clean and service company assets such as, generators, trailers, trucks, heavy trucks

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment in field environment on customer location

  • Comply with all QHSE policies and procedures during the course of work.

  • Ensures full awareness of, and compliance with, the requirements of all relevant company/customer HSE handbooks, HSE procedures and emergency procedures

  • Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly

  • Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined and equipment is ready for customer use

  • Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires, packs axel bearings and prepares equipment for delivery.

  • Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective

  • Ability to explain to Management problems and the repairs completed on equipment

  • Ability to work a twenty-four (24) hour on call schedule.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence such as Job Safety Environmental Analysis (JSEA).
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.   Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Performs any other delegated duties considered appropriate in order to maintain the efficient running of the department.

  • Dresses and interacts with others in a professional manner.

 

Certificates, Licenses and Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of current practices, equipment, materials, and supplies used in the mechanical trade. Skills in proper and safe use of mechanical tools.

  • Must have a valid local driver's license with clean driving recor

  • Must pass a physical, agility testing, and drug and alcohol screen
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, nights and overtime as needed
  • Physical requirements: Prolonged standing and walking; Bending/stooping/squatting/kneeling/crawling; Overhead work; Twisting/Rotation; Climbing stairs and ladders

Education

  • High School or G.E.D.
