We are currently seeking a Valve Technician based in Lubbock, TX.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This job title is responsible for daily maintenance and testing of Kelly and Inside BOP Valves, testing of side entry pump in subs, and upkeep of parts and equipment associated. The individual will work closely with dispatcher, job coordinators, and third parties to properly provide quality valves for jobs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to keep track of inventory of valves, valve parts of incoming and outgoing valves
Be able to determine if parts are good or damaged
Must know the inner workings of Kelly and Ibop valves
Be able to communicate with vendors
Must be able to keep equipment in good working order and keep up with calibration on equipment
Must know test requirements for each third party monitoring company
Keep stock/inventory of o-rings, teflons, supplies, etc.
Must be able to operate breakout machine
Must know torque specs for each connection
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to use simple math skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Forklift Operator Training required. Knowledge of all daily checkpoints and assigned equipment. Knowledge of various equipment descriptions and their identifying markings. Knowledge of color code used to identify inspection status. Knowledge of how equipment is organized to ensure proper storage and shipping. Skilled in operating equipment capable of carrying heavy and wide loads. Knowledge of tubular connections, weights and grades
