The Shop Laborer is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Blowout Preventer (BOP) shop.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General shop up-keep, maintenance, and organization.
  • General maintenance of shop tools and equipment, (i.e. washing, cleaning, buffing, painting and greasing equipment).
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand, forklift and/or overhead cranes.
  • General assembly work that may require operating various power/hand tools.
  • Inspect all assembly parts and report defective material or questionable component conditions to management.
  • Assist with pressure testing.
  • May be required to paint various raw building materials.
  • Assist with special projects and cover for multiple positions when staffing levels are low/production or operating demands are accelerated.
  • Inspect and service the high pressure piping-Chicksan iron.
  • Assist with gate valve service and repair choke manifold.
  • Observe and follow all company safety rules and policies.
  • Assist the Shop Service Technician, as needed.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to multi-task
  • General knowledge of hand/power tools
  • Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
  • Skilled in operations of automated machinery, including a Chicksan iron

 Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
